Our heroes are back on the trail again. A wagon driven by suspected cultists overturns on a bad patch of road and a crate tumbles out onto the road revealing the gold and jewels held within. The cultists form a tight perimeter around their fallen goods, but Daar manages to help right the wagon before they can stop her. Confused, the cultists hurl thanks and imprecations in the same breath. Daar graciously backs away, leaving the astounded cultists to load up their stolen goods into their wagon and continue on their way.
On a later day, the party goes hunting with the caravan’s scouts and teamsters and someone spots a beautiful golden stag. The hunt is on as everyone not essential to the caravan attempts to track down the clearly magical beast. It leads the party on a merry chase through the forest until it comes to a glade, where, to the group’s astonished eyes, it transforms into a tall, regal, golden-skinned, antlered elf prince. He explains that he’s been trapped in stag form whenever he leaves his former castle by an ancient elven curse. He begs the party to help him. The group agrees and camps out in the elven ruins for the night. The next morning Ezra magically removes the prince’s curse and the party brings him back to the caravan where he is accepted as a new passenger.
A couple of days later the caravan comes around a corner and stops short, having found a head in the road.
